Cal Drench 250

Cal Drench 250 Cal Drench 250 contains food grade calcium in both the calcium chloride form and calcium proprionate froms, Selenium, Vitamin-E, B-Vitamins, Electrolytes, Trace Minerals and many other ingredients. Use on your top producers and highly stressed cows.

Cal Drench 250 combines calcium chloride and calcium propitiate for an important calcium source mix. On fresh cow tests conducted by an independent lab, the increase in blood calcium levels were excellent. In fact, levels were almost doubled compared to results from competitive products. Besides the dramatic calcium blood level rise, we have also found that the higher levels last longer.

As with other Dr. Register & Associates calcium products. the calcium is used to open the esophageal groove, the rumen is by passed, and the drench is absorbed quickly in the omassum and abomassum. The calcium propinate sustains the calcium blood levels longer and decreases the irritability of calcium chloride. The energy found in calcium propinate as well as propylene glycol is an aid to the fresh cow. B vitamin in high amounts stimulates the appetite, electrolytes help rehydrate the cow after freshening and the selenium and vitamin E stimulate the immune system. Also included in Cal Drench 250 is niacin to help avoid ketosis, cobalt, vitamin C and other trace minerals to stimulate the immune system, animo acids and glycine to increase absorption of calcium, and a flavoring agent to make the drench easier to give.

Dr. Register and Associates recommends a 250 ml dose of Cal Drench 250 shortly after calving. Ideally, a dose before and a dose after calving should be given, within a 12 hour time frame, especially for cows with a history of milk fever. Observe the cow 1O to 12 hours after the first dose and repeat if needed. The 250 ml dose can be given with a multiple application from the 200ml Drench Gun.

Dr. Register and Associates recommends using Cal Drench Plus shortly before or after freshening. If a second dose is needed then we recommend Cal Drench 250 because it will last a little longer and it takes a little longer to react. It is ideal to give one dose of Cal Drench just shortly before calving (6-8 hours) and one dose of Cal Drench 250 after calving ( 2-4 hours) . Any time the cow needs a boost two weeks before calving until two weeks after calving, Cal Drench 250 would be the ideal drench to use. Any time a cow has a high temperature with Mastitis, Pneumonia or Metritis, a lowering of the blood calcium takes place, you should routinely give Cal Drench 250 or Cal Drench Plus along with your other treatments. Any time a cow is stressed calcium is needed also Nia Plus Drench will keep the cow eating.
