Cal Nia B Drench

Cal Nia B Cal Nia B Drench contains food grade calcium, Niacin, Propylene Glycol, and B-Vitamins. Calcium will raise the blood-calcium level if it is low, Niacin is needed to counteract Ketosis, Propylene Glycol for energy and B-Vitamins to stimulate appetite. Use on all 1st and 2nd calf cows.

Cal Nia B Drench is specially formulated for first and second calf cows, who generally do not need as much calcium as their older herdmates. It supplies necessary calcium and niacin, a much needed appetite stimulant, plus as energy boost of propylene glycol.

What makes Cal Nia B Drench so effective is how quickly and efficiently it is absorbed and used by the cow. As the cow swallows, her esophageal groove opens, due to the calcium chloride and propylene glycol in the drench. The groove closes off the opening to the rumen, and the entire drench contents goes directly into the omassum and abomassum, where it is absorbed in as soon as five to ten minutes. The niacin and B vitamins are absorbed faster, and are not diluted in the rumen. The calcium will increase the blood level into the normal range ( 8 to 10/mg/100cc of blood) if the animal is at all hypocalcemic.

The niacin found in Cal Nia B Drench will decrease the conversion of body fat as a source of energy, decreasing the chances of developing ketosis and fatty liver in fresh animals. With twisted stomachs and ketosis in younger cows becoming a larger problem, the fast absorption of B vitamins will stimulate appetite.

Dairy producers know that if they can get fresh cows eating soon after freshening, the animal has less chance of calving problems like hypocalcemia ( milk fever), ketosis, retained placenta, displaced abomassum ( twisted stomachs) and fatty liver.

Dr. Register & Associates recommends feeding 200 ml as soon after calving as possible. Look at the cow 8 to 1O hours later and repeat if she is not eating or looking good (cold ears, dim eyes, lowered head).

Cal Nia B Drench is an economical product to use on young fresh cows. It can be used anytime before or after calving to stimulate appetite..
